Sheffield Indoor Trial is proud to hold the record of being the longest running event at the famous Yorkshire arena as it is set to celebrate its 25thanniversary on Saturday 28th December 2019. Event promoters, Avondale Management first boarded over the ice rink back in 1996 in order for Martin Lampkin to be able to build a course worthy of the international riders that his partner Neil Crosswaite had signed up to compete in the first ever edition of an event that has become an important part of Trial history over the last two and a half decades.

Its annual date in the international Trial calendar since the mid-nineties also makes it one of the longest continuous running events of its kind anywhere in the World and has allowed it to welcome an incredible list of truly the best riders the sport has had during this extended period. Former World Champions Jordi Tarres, Marc Colomer, Albert Cabestany, Takahisa Fujinami, Adam Raga and Dougie Lampkin are amongst those to grace the Sheffield stage since 1996.

Whilst Yorkshire’s very own Martin Lampkin’s eldest son, Dougie, rightly earned himself the title of ‘King of Sheffield’ due to his dominance of the early editions, it is a title he has respectfully handed over to current World Champion Toni Bou. The Spanish supremo has produced some exceptional and memorable performances over more recent years inside Sheffield arena, and very much remains the man to beat when the event returns to the Steel city on Saturday 28thDecember 2019.
